Raul, a proud resident of Coral Gables since 1992, has worked full time in the construction industry for over 30 years. After graduating with honors from the University of Miami School of Architecture, Raul partnered with his father who was a prestigious Architect and General Contractor. Together they designed and supervised over 800 private and public projects spanning a course of over 25 years.
These projects included custom residences, mid-rise residential/office buildings, planned residential communities, educational facilities, medical centers, restaurants, offices/warehouses and retail stores among others. Raul is currently the Founder and President of Alvarez Building Group, a construction company that specializes in custom homes. He has fulfilled his dream of creating a one-stop office that ties together the design and construction phases of a project to achieve a more cost effective result. Being an excellent communicator and strategic problem solver allows Raul to move efficiently through the pre-design phase with clients and municipalities.
All of his projects are unique in design as a consequence of complying with clients wishes, the integration of site specific features and the use of different architectural styles. “Every home shall reflect individual and cohesive beauty.” Throughout his career Raul has collaborated with many building department personnel and construction design boards. This experience enables him to swiftly attain building permit approvals. During construction, his broad knowledge of methods and materials along with a constant attention to details produce a very high rate of first time inspection approvals that lead to faster completion dates. Raul has kept his field crews together for many years. They execute the work with utmost professionalism and truly work as a family unit.
